pdfsync and tables clash

If you use the pdfsync class and then create a table with a specified  
column width then the table column width becomes very wide.  Removing  
the pdfsync package seems to fix the problem.

Can anyone duplicate this?  Is it a LyX bug or a LaTeX problem???
