Hello,
I hate to re-open this subject, but I've still NEVER been able to convert a
"Hello world" doc to RTF, OOo, Word Doc or whatever, and I use LyX since 1.5.0
version (now 1.6.2).
So this message is just for those who till yesterday never could export and
then found the light with some tweak.
I read a thousand ways to do it and tried some, reinstalled converters,
tweaked, manually did it etc. NOTHING. So, for a matter of time, I will not
rely on old posts if they're not proven to be working at least by the users
they tried to help, to whom this message is addressed.
>From what I understood, the problem is not OS-related (I use winXP anyway) and
relates to a bunch of people who report almost the same.
in my case, if using the "export > oo" menu command:
- the conversion take quite a long time (for an article with "hello world"),
more or less same time of compiling one of my quite complex 150 pages doc (with
3 LaTeX runs).
- the result is a .odt with a kb size proportional to the (converted) content
- (opened with OOo 3) the content is not shown and the only difference with a a
blank doc seems to be that right margin is zero.

(If this can help, I also have never been able to fully compile with LaTeX a
.tex file with bibtex bibliography, because LaTeX/BibTeX can't locate any .bib
file wherever I put them, so both could be problems of paths or similar - this
seems also to be an old users problem)

I could stand (of course) a manual way, if it is reported to work with
problematic users like me ;)

Thanks, and sorry if RE-RE-RE-RE-POST

Piero
