I'm not sure it's officially preferred for beamer presentations, but one out of one beamer users surveyed (me) prefers it.
Actually, I think it is. Now I'm getting back to the rhythm I recall using pdflatex to view/export previous presentations. I don't know what the logo issue is since that had not appeared before. The type 3 glyph error is also new, but not critical. Rich -- Richard B.
