formula, I works perfectly. But if I start math mode first by pressing
Ctrl+M and type \unit[... it does not seem to work.
Anyone has an idea how to do that?

You should enter \unitone or \unittwo...
To get "1 mm", enter "\unittwo" and insert "1" in the first box and "mm"
in the second box.
