Hi, I haven't found anything useful there. Am I missing something? The problem is not with orphan or widow lines, but with short (2-line) paragraphs preceded by a heading, and at the bottom of a page. I wanted LaTeX to format me the book ok on the fly, but I guess the solution will be to review the output once is everything written and proof read. Miguel
