Hi Sajjad,
ERT stands for Evil Red Text, and is a way to incorporate raw LaTeX or raw TeX inline into your LyX document, as a single code. The reason it's called "Evil" is it can be badly abused, and LaTeX is much trickier than run of the mill environment-hosted LyX (you know, the LyX app you work with). ERT is either LaTeX code or TeX code. The former is more capable, the latter is simpler. In practice, you're going to need some LaTeX no matter what, in your ERT. There are several excellent LaTeX books, all fairly expensive. The seminal TeX document on the web is this: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/21/opinion/21shulman.html I've put together some TeX and LaTeX documentation, all of which can be accessed from here: http://www.troubleshooters.com/linux/lyx/ HTH StevET Steve Litt Recession Relief Package http://www.recession-relief.US Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/stevelitt
