Hi!

First things first: Lyx version 2.0 alpha 5, OS: mac os x 10.6.4, installed by
using the precompiled .dmg from the lyx.org homepage.

My situtation is as follows: I am trying to write an article together with
someone who is used to word-style gui tools, hence my LyX adventure began. (I
write plain LaTeX myself, just because that is what I am used to.) I am trying
to convert my revtex4-1 project to LyX, but LyX doesn't find the layout file. I
downloaded the file
http://www.eecs.umich.edu/~rmanoj/revtex4-1.layout
and placed it into the folder
~/Library/Application Support/LyX-2.0.0alpha5/layouts
but LyX says, when I try to import my LaTeX code, that
"""
The layout file:
revtex4-1
could not be found. A default textclass with default
layouts will be used. LyX will not be able to produce
correct output.
"""
which is indeed correct - the output does not look good.

So, is there an error with the .layout file? Did I put it into the wrong place?
I'm new to LyX, and any help is appreciated :-) If we can fix this, I'll
happily recommend LyX to some more colleagues of mine...

Cheers,
Paul.
