If you are using nesting just to vary indentation level of code lines, I suggest you abandom the LyXCode environment and switch to the much more flexible listings environment (Insert > Program Listing), which is documented in section 7 of Help > Embedded Objects. Among other things, you can use tabs to indent a program listing. /Paul
