To answer myself, I had to correct some paths in the TexShop preferences (Preferences -> Engine) to /opt/local/bin (tex is installed via macports) "View DVI" now opens texshop and it displays as a pdf (dvi seems to be converted to pdf by TexShop, is this expected ?). However, to see changes I have to close the texshop window and do "View DVI" again. "Update DVI" seems to do nothing. Now I wonder why is that, but maybe its just another setting. I also wonder why I would want to output dvi and not pdf. "View PDF" and "Update PDF" with preview.app is working perfectly. -- Best Regards, Markus Falb
