There are some discussions in mailing lists about using TeXshop as a DVI viewer
e.g. http://www.tug.org/pipermail/macostex-archives/2007-April/030019.html

do you really need to see the DVI?
Or can you work just with the pdf?
Is there a specific mac DVI viewer that you can install and use instead?
