If one takes the trouble to look at individual letters provided by Aldus and compare them to EcoType in the print edition, one will notice how similar the two are. To my eyes, the variations are minor. But I must be having bad eyes: the typeface is somewhat similar to Perpetua, too, although differences are more visible.
