Ok, the order of the packages is wrong. You can not use the modules
"endnotes", "footnote to endnote", but you have to insert in the
preamble the following commands.
\usepackage{endnotes}
\usepackage{hyperendnotes}
\let\footnote=\endnote
Then everything works as expected.
