I'm learning how to use JabRef's bibliographic database to insert
citations in the current LyX document by working from both ends. I'm missing
a critical piece and don't know if it's at the JabRef or LyX ends.

Started the lyxserver with path ~/.lyx/lyxpipe; reconfigured and
restarted. Now ~/.lyx/ also has the pipes, lyxpipes.in and lyxpipes.out. So,
it looks good on this end.

Within the lyx document I positioned the cursor where I want to enter a
citation and selected Insert -> Citation. In JabRef I marked all rows I want
to use (which moves them to the top of the main window), selected them, and
clicked the 'Push to LyX' button. The status line told me that citations
were pushed to lyx. But, the entire list is displayed in the gray box where
I want a single citation. If I remove that list of names and again select
Insert -> Citation the dialog box is now empty and no button is active.

  What am I missing here?

TIA,

Rich
