It would be nice indeed if this worked seamlessly. I'm actually not sure who the debian/ubuntu packagers are. apt shows: Maintainer: Ubuntu Developers <[email protected]> Original-Maintainer: Debian LyX Maintainers <[email protected]> > Everything is working fine on my system though, so it was an easy fix.
