However, the concluding release in a series will be able to read documents from the next major release. Thus, LyX 1.6.10 can read LyX 2.0.x files, and the last release in the 2.0.x series (probably 2.0.8) will be able to read LyX 2.1.x documents. The rationale for this is that the new file format is only really considered "stable" when the final major release is out. Regards, Jürgen
