AFAI can see the next stable release (after 1.0) will have to be 2.0
because it'll be so different to what's in 1.0.

Even with just the gui and internal changes alone its already hugely
different (sure it reads and writes like LyX but is it LyX?).

And I think 10M is way to big for a .tar.gz so we should instead use 
bzip2 and have an 8M package :P
