scdoc is not an alternative to help2man; it does not generate the man page from the --help output.

In the GNU system, man pages are secondary and optional[1]. Using scdoc would increase the maintenance burden; three files should be changed instead of two for each version, and I should learn yet another syntax to maintain the .scd file.

What would be helpful is improving help2man to recognize an 'EXIT STATUS' section in the --help output (as it recognizes the OPTIONS section[2]) and to keep the formatting of tables.
