I'm not a heavy contributor, but I've been a list reader for yet. I remember seeing the M100 and M102 (and the M200) in Radio Shack when I was a kid in the 1980s. I had an MC-10 at home, my brother had an original CoCo, and I was fascinated by a battery powered programmable portable computer that had applications built-in.
I couldn't afford it, so I bought a Tandy PC-7 pocket computer. It was neat, but...not a M100. It would be 1999 before I bought a laptop of my own. When I was in grad school, I found a M102 for sale on Ebay and picked it up for not very much money. It was missing the ROM door, but otherwise in virtually perfect unused condition. I contacted Club 100 to see about buying a new cover, and Rick Hanson asked for my address and sent me one for free. I've always had more plans for it than I have had actual use, but I did type some of my thesis on it and occasionally pull it out to just enjoy the speed and the great keyboard. I'd like to use it for something more -- maybe, after I upgrade my amateur radio license, I could use it for packet radio or to interface with a SDR. Until then, I enjoy listening to the discussions here, and I keep thinking about picking up a good ROM... Jim -- --- ----- ------- ----------- James K.
