the only thing i couldn't get it to work on was a mini disc recorder with an
unusual ATRAC recording scheme.

when making MP3 files it would be wise to use 160k bits or better.

I feel the same out of my experiments. It has to do with attenuation of volume
on one side and mic gain on the other. I was able to play load from MP3 format
so I do not believe it is an issue of lossy compression.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I have been trying to figure out why I can't get
Android or iOS doing the same thing. I have narrowed it down to having a level
control on the recording. Normally Android and iOS recorders use the Mic at
full level. Audacity on the other hand lets you control the level, which I have
adjusted to get it working.

I've been able to record and playback using Audacity as well. Used it to back
up original software cassette tapes. The nice thing about the M100 is that if
you can get the old software loaded, when you save it to Audacity, the M100
regenerates clean tones so you get a near perfect recording. I tend to save
them as .wav files.

Ok guys, I have a cassette cable working with Audacity on Win7. Curious thing
I have is it is a straight through cable with no divider on th Mic. I have it
working with the Mic volume turned down to the first notch from left and
speaker at half volume. Has anybody else got this same result? Reason I ask is
I can't get it on Android or iOS working.
