I agree. Perhaps just add a note saying to reach out on the mailing list would be sufficient.
I don't think it's reasonable to come in and say "I think your Wiki sucks, it's not functional, it's being managed improperly, so everyone should pay attention to my new wiki instead" Especially in a community of less than 100 people where probably only a small number of people actually will contribute to the wiki in reality.
