That's why I was thinking if the contact were stuck closed, it wouldn't have any effect when you pressed it. Might account for the immediate power-on when installing batteries, and also the fact that you can't turn it back on if you power off from BASIC (because the button is already 'pressed' so pressing it again won't do anything). Just an idea. I don't have a T200 either - yet.
