That's why I was thinking if the contact were stuck closed, it wouldn't have 
any effect when you pressed it.  Might account for the immediate power-on when 
installing batteries, and also the fact that you can't turn it back on if you 
power off from BASIC (because the button is already 'pressed' so pressing it 
again won't do anything).

Just an idea.  I don't have a T200 either - yet.  I did, perhaps foolishly, 
spring for this one

 mostly because it came with some stuff I have been trying to get like the 
parallel cable and the modem cable, and also because it might be fun to show my 
kids a real dot matrix printer and see how long they can put up with the noise 
of printing out a party banner on fanfold paper :)

I'm in Canada though so I'm not going to see it for a couple of weeks yet.
