NM is a "bad file name" error. Make sure the write protect is set on the floppy disk. Turn off power to your TPDD2, then type RUN"COM:98n1enn" from BASIC and turn your TPDD on. That should do it as long as the system disk isn't corrupted. It sounds like it's a valid disk since your 100 works. One last thought. Have you tried to connect the serial port to anything other than the TPDD2? Just to rule out if there is any issue with the serial port.
