Well maybe we need a pc based diagnostic program that can check both data
channels at varying baud rates and flow control.

I could add it to TBACK.

There are plenty of things that can go wrong. Pins can go bad on M100 or pc
side interfaces. The cable wiring can be flaky. The wiring of the cable can
be substandard or non standard. If you build your own cable, if signal
ground is not well connected it causes bizarre problems.

Hey, is it possible you have more than one process competing for the port?
Sometimes people try to set up a serial Getty process for remote login.
That would have to be disabled for dlplus to work.

The original dl could be set up AS a login process but I didn’t know what
it was for at the time I started modifying it and disabled or removed it.

So now if you run dlplus or LaddieAlpha you need to make sure nothing else
is using the port. Say, inittab
