For your first Model T I wouldn't recommend a "parts only" computer.
The only caveat is that Model T's taken out of storage often appear to novice or non-users as "dead". They put batteries in, the screen doesn't show anything or it shows garbage and they give up. What causes this is the RAM containing random data, combined with the NiCd not being fully charged up. So often non-working units actually work. Anyway it's possible you could get a deal on a unit that is apparently dead. But if it is someone from this list selling, if they say it doesn't work, it probably is really broken. Maybe communicate with the seller as to why they think it is broken. My recommendation for your first unit is a Tandy 102. Least problems, most users... -- John.
