Ok, folks,

I've gotten the Elenco LP-560 (basic probe) and have tested some, but am
becoming even more confused. It has been 40+ years since I used a probe, GO
NAVY. With the probe set to CMOS and Pulse, upon full power up (Mem & Main
Power ON) I have a LO on SRAM CE and S1. After that any combination of reset,
hard reset gives unpredictable readings. If switch to TTL, CE is HIGH upon
power up and goes LO after a reset. S1 seems to follow CE both cases.

Any kind of help would be appreciated.

Just in case this might help...

Interesting the Micronota logic probes are 'collectible' now. I still have the
one I bought in high school and it still works just fine, never thought of it
as collectible though.

Your symptoms sound similar to what I was experiencing recently which, with the
help of the list, was traced back to a faulty RAM module (the standard RAM). It
was hard to sus out what was happening until I got a logic analyzer on the data
bus and traced through what was being read from the ROM and compared that to a
ROM disassembly. I have an older Saleae Logic 8 (not made any longer) but I saw
clones on eBay recently for $10 and the 16 channel clones were $50. It seems
semi-shady to me to use a clone with the Saleae software but there is also an
open source software you can use (which still uses and Saleae driver I think).

Will take some time to get a probe.
