That's what I was afraid of. However, I did find something that is worth
a try when I get home tonight. In the NEC 8201 technical manual (yes I
read these things) on page 256, it looks like bit 7 of memory location
D8 (216) is set when there is a low power signal.  If that is correct, a
PEAK(216) which returns a value greater than 127 should indicate a low
power state. But I'll have to test this later since I am not in front of
the machine.
