What’s the deal with M100’s and getting good working ones!? Right now I have 3 bad M100’s; all with different issues:
- one shows garbage in the date area of the boot up screen, although the rest of the screen looks ok; the memory amount looks correct for a 32K machine, but it’s locked up upon boot up and won’t do anything - one shows a weird memory amount; just over 16K. If it were a 16K machine wouldn’t it have less than 16K on boot-up? Additionally, when you go into BASIC, you get weird errors such as a syntax error when you use the NEW or RUN commands. - one I just bought from someone on eBay who says he replaced the caps, so I thought it should be good for a good long while. However, when I got it it had weird power-on issues. I would have sent it back but then I put a REX in it to test and destroyed the option ROM area when I attempted to remove the REX (and I think I ruined the REX in the process as well). So, I don’t have a good M100 to connect to either of my DVI’s via the cable I have. I have a T102 that’s in tip-top shape, but don’t have a DVI cable for it and no one on this list seems to want to make one to sell to me (I can’t make one; I don’t care how easy you say it is to make one) Any thoughts on the bad M100’s? Have any of you seen these issues? Anyone want to sell me a T102 DVI cable? Thanks for your help. Randy
