As far as I'm aware, no NiMH manufacturer recommends trickle-charging; the OEM rechargeable pack used NiCd,
not NiMH. Using NiMH in the regular pack works fine, and if you charge the cells individually in a smart charger like the Maha C-9000 you'll get quite a few more cycles, IME.
