Stephen,

Maybe a little late, but I really feel I should drop in my two cents. I
recently purchase my first Rex from Greg. My M100s are a little more than a
hobby to me as I use them on a regular basis and the Rex has made things quite
a bit more enjoyable moving data between computers and such. That is not to say
it is all easy.

When I first received my Rex I could not get it to work in any of my three
M100s. I thought maybe the code had somehow become corrupt and went through
every which way I could -- plus suggestions from the list, to remedy the
problem. Greg and Ian offered help as well as the fine folks on the list. We
all understand making this stuff with the limited resources available is quite
time consuming, so I was never expecting some over night miracle and did not
beef about Arcade Shopper. When I had finally reached the end of my rope to get
the Rex working, Greg and Ian came through with a replacement on its' way
before I had even asked. This was the kind of service I would expect from a
multi-billion dollar company not from a limited market enterprise such as
Arcade Shopper. I was so happy the day I received the replacement, as I had
already sent my return, I installed it the moment I got home, but something was
still wrong as even the new Rex did not function. This can't be, I thought and
took a closer look with all the candle power I could muster around my shop
magnifier and examined my M100s option Rom sockets even closer than my Near and
Far sighted eyes with progressive lenses could do. I found that the whole
problem was a pin, one stinking pin, in the socket had been misaligned and did
not connect properly to the Rex. Greg and Ian never once voiced ill upon me
and maintained great business ethic and character over the situation that,
in-the-end, was my own problem. Never that of the product at all. So I praise
them both and the blessing Arcade Shopper is for those of us that still find
real use for the M100s.

I have not been a patient man in most of my 60 years and never relished waiting
on a parcel, but it should be of little concern these days when everything can
be tracked so quickly. Greg provides tracking information and that gives plenty
of time to manage what you must to assure safe delivery of your parcel. Voicing
it here is just plain inappropriate.

As is now I am enjoying the heck out of playing with -- and that is the only
way to describe first use of, the Rex. So here goes a thank you to, not only
Greg and Ian, but Steve as well. The Rex rocks and is worth any amount of wait
time I must endure.

God Bless,

GregS <><

Subject: [M100] Arcade Shopper?

Hello all,

I’m quite new to the M100 area, and I’ve been having a good time working my way
through getting things to work that folks have created and published, oh so
many years ago. My Model 102 has been the most fun machine that I’ve worked
with during my vintage computer hobby. Other machines that I have are
certainly more powerful or more flexible, but none of them is more fun!

That brings me around to purchasing a REX. I found that Arcade Shopper online
advertises them for sale and in stock. I made my purchase last Monday. Mid
week, I sent an e-mail asking when I might expect it to be shipped, as it still
(even today right now) shows a status of “awaiting processing.” I got an
answer back from Gregory McGill saying that he only works this part time, and
he may ship on Friday or Monday. This for me was quite disappointing. I sell
on eBay part time, but when someone purchases something from me, I jump right
to it. I guess that’s me and others have different ways. Arcade Shopper took
my money right away - hopefully, Gregory will get around to shipping my REX
sometime soon.

I’m sorry to be complaining out loud, but I have not received such a
lackadaisical attitude anywhere else during my vintage hobby. It’s a shame to
be held hostage with so few outlets available for this product.

I apologize if I am offending anyone. These are my feelings. It’s difficult
to be the new guy who wants to get going when the community is already well
established I guess.

Thanks for listening...
