Wrt the program name behavior... I suggest a cold restart. I think you should test your backups also.
You could also go in and extract files one by one from a stored image into a new cold restart ram. Probably there will be name corruption so the extraction gives you the chance to rename. I would not trust your system is it is behaving strangely. I also personally dont think important data is permanently safe in rex. I try my best to make rex software bug free but because the ram images are not pure files there is always the risk that a ram image containing files is corrupt. A real file system would be better but I've never accomplished that. 64k blocks of flash are hard to work with. A big sram would be easier. Rex is very intrusive into the m100 os, so I would not be surprised if there are possible failure paths that i have not found on my own and fixed. Getting quick menu to work for example takes some serious gymnastics that can only be done by observation as opposed to by design. I dont think rexmgr needs to be the first program on the list of programs but it does need to be the first program in memory. In practice it should be since as a practice tou should install rex after cold restart. I doubt it is rex interfering with text. More likely that you need a cold restart. The thing about rex is...it works until it doesn't. I suggest you push important images out, or at least make sure your individual files are accessible via F6. Saving it externally ensures you have the data on a machine where you could extract and recover the info. Wilson van Alst produced a piece of software that recovers ram files after a cold restart. Worth understanding how to use that. If you are unsure about your machine, pull the rex out and see if the machine is normal.
