I was able to load the version in the 2017 email you linked + the ASCPIX.CO
from the same email using those instructions. I ran it in CloudT.

However, the TSWEEP.DO text provided in the email is corrupted, it has
extra line breaks that make it not load. I cleaned those up.

Also if you're getting bogus syntax errors your RAM may already be
corrupted and you need a cold start.
