I tried uz80as ( https://github.com/jorgicor/uz80as ) tonight which also claims to be compatible with TASM and I got the same results as with the TASM 3.2 shareware executable. Pretty easy to get up and running and worth a try.
If I give bergen a try I'll let everyone know how it went.
