In this video we refurbish two odd TRS-80 Model 100s. One of them is a
one-of-a-kind prototype from the estate of Tandy engineer Frank Druda
(thanks to my friend Eric D.). Second M100 has an odd ‘blonde’ keyboard.
Let dig into both and see how much the prototype differs from a
production unit and get them both fully operational again.
Both units will be at Tandy Assembly 2024: http://www.tandyassembly.com/

The beige keyboard is definitely a KC-85 keyboard.
KC-85 is more similar to Model 100 than any of the other clones. Even
has the molex optrom socket even though a standard pinout not the Tandy
pinout, and even the battery and optrom covers are interchangeable with
M100. And of course the entire keyboard.
I have one kc-85 with a broken L keycap and had to swap in one from a
100, and both models have the same distinct number pad graphics with the
number in an inverse color block, so my L/3 key is all inversed from the
rest, but otherwise matches.
