My long suffering 102 has a new problem. It’s had issues with odd day/date
display and in the past, sometimes would ghost-type random character strings,
but it’s been behaving perfectly for the last 9 months or so.

Today, I went to turn it on and all I got was a black screen - all pixels on.
No other activity, and no response to reset. Only the contrast control works
(and it does power off of course).

I put in a set of new batteries, with no change, but it did power up to the
home screen after connecting a power adapter and pressing reset. After that, it
ran seemingly happily, for a while, until it fell asleep, after which it
wouldn’t power up again, other than the same all-on screen.

When I get it running with the power adapter, it shows that despite trying an
all-reset with the screen showing all-pixels, it still has the right date/time,
so I presume it isn’t even reading the reset button while in that state.

Ideas on possible causes? I have very minimal equipment - multimeter, basically
- but it would help to know what I might be looking for!

Annoyingly, I was about to buy a ‘spare’ 102 at a reasonable price for just
these circumstances, because I use it a lot, but I waited for 15 minutes too
long!
