The battery was the original, it was reading 3.6v with the memory switch off, though rapidly declined to about 2v with the battery switch on. I replaced it with a new battery, but the result is the same.
The logic board looks pretty clean, except for some signs of a light corrosion around what I presume to be the power circuit on both sides of the board. I cleaned that area with a brush and IPA to clean most of it off, but that didn’t appear to help either.
