This in particular came out reasonably well by virtue of just doing Print -> PDF out of Safari followed by a pass through qpdf. The inner links all seem to work and the syntax highlighting is intact. I wound up with a 300-ish-k PDF. No PDF metadata like ToC or index is inserted, but the document's internal ToC works as designed. A corrected version ought to be easy enough to capture in the same way. Noteworthy: I wound up distilling a text version of this for my own use and found it to have decent coverage but poor actual descriptions. Some things that need very little expansion are expounded on at length; other things that could benefit from a clearer explanation are terse at best. It needs some love but I agree, so far it's as good as we have. Maybe come retirement...
