When getting gain higher FPS getting lower.. it is simple, when expose time is higher less frames can be captured by second.. right? :-) You can also tweak brightness and whiteness. For example by Kopete. And if you want color, you need libv4l, if you are openSUSE user, you can get one from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/m4r3k:/m560x-driver/openSUSE_11.0/, than add line /usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so to your /etc/ld.so.preload (if not exist, just add one) and feel free to enjoy colors. :-)
