Hi Erik,

a definite value obviously does not exist, since it depends on the 
environmental light. So, I suggest you a good compromise in a normal day 
  light. Here is the last gain control debug value:

Sep 17 16:32:06 parity kernel: m5602: [mt9m111_set_ctrl:162] Set gain to 283
Sep 17 16:32:06 parity kernel: m5602: [mt9m111_set_ctrl:182] tmp=212771, 
data[1]=63, data[0]=35

so you can insert 283 as gain value.

A question: a gnome program that allows fine tuning of gain and other 
controls ? like livecam....
