I have a doubt on SoftwarePrefetchPolicy.
For the Full CPU, there is parameter of sw_prefetch_policy.
It looks like issue the prefetch by CPU itself, not the prefetch mechanism of cache.
My questions here are:
(1) This SoftwarePre
fetch by
CPU only prefetch data cache when miss, or do it on instruction cache too?
(Right now I can only find the relative data prefetch code. My understanding is wrong?)
(2) Could you recommend the reference paper for this SoftwarePrefetch?
I hope I can clarify the intention of this technique and my doubt by the recommended reference paper.
