Also, sticking with the gcc-3.x series continues to give you FORTRAN  
support, whereas the 4.x series is quirky in that respect. Some of us  
sad folks need the FORTRAN so we're glad the scripts to grab the  
gcc-3.x distributions work just fine in crosstool-0.42 (though to add  
the latest versions you have to add the full version numbers by hand  
in the crosstool config files, which is probably second nature to  
this group).
