Hi,
I would also like to run my own program in M5 2.0 FS mode for multiple cores.
When I am running my program with 4 cores, the program is not running to
completion, but with 2 cores it executes successfully. I am giving the output
from the m5term below -
"SMP starting up secondaries.
Slave CPU 1 console command START
SlaveCmd: restart FFFFFC0000310020 FFFFFC0000310020 vptb FFFFFFFE00000000

The console always seem to hang after reaching this particular line -
"NET: Registered protocol family 2"
I am defining multiple cores in the fs.py file as mentioned below -
"system = makeLinuxAlphaSystem(mem_mode, bm[0])
system.cpu = [AtomicSimpleCPU(), AtomicSimpleCPU(), AtomicSimpleCPU(),
AtomicSimpleCPU()]
system.cpu[0].connectMemPorts(system.membus)
system.cpu[0].mem = system.physmem
system.cpu[1].connectMemPorts(system.membus)
system.cpu[1].mem = system.physmem
system.cpu[2].connectMemPorts(system.membus)
system.cpu[2].mem = system.physmem
system.cpu[3].connectMemPorts(system.membus)
system.cpu[3].mem = system.physmem
root = Root(clock = '1GHz', system = system)
"
Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.

Hi,m5-users£¬
When I run m5 with 4-over core(6,8,or more),I always got the warning msg:
"warn: clear IPI for CPU=0, but NO IPI "
and this msg seemed like to repeat ceaselessly.
On the console, the output msg stoped with :
"SMP starting up secondaries.
Slave CPU 1 console command START
SlaveCmd: restart FFFFFC0000310020 FFFFFC0000310020 vptb FFFFFFFE00000000

SlaveCmd: restart FFFFFC0000310020 FFFFFC0000310020 vptb FFFFFFFE00000000

It looks like that just 4 cpus were started up,and warning msg appeared when
starting next cpu up.
Is the warning caused by the kernel?Perhaps I should recompile the 2.6.8.1
kernel with some special options checked.
Anybody have this warning before now and how to resolved it ?
Thanks and Best Regards!
