Hi, Kernel is compiling ok. But disk image creation is giving errors.
After following the steps listed in wiki, ptxdist go is throwing this error: ** gcc -c -pipe -O2 -m486 -fomit-frame-pointer -I../lib -Wall -Wmissing-prototypes -Wstrict-prototypes -DNCH=1 -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -DSBINDIR=\"/sbin\" -DUSRSBINDIR=\"/usr/sbin\" -DLOGDIR=\"/var/log\" -DVARPATH=\"/var\" -DLOCALEDIR=\"/usr/share/locale\" -O2 llseek.c -o llseek.o llseek.c:34: error: expected declaration specifiers or ‘...’ before ‘_llseek’ llseek.c:34: error: expected declaration specifiers or ‘...’ before ‘fd’ llseek.c:34: error: expected declaration specifiers or ‘...’ before ‘offset_high’ llseek.c:35: error: expected declaration specifiers or ‘...’ before ‘offset_low’ llseek.c:35: error: expected declaration specifiers or ‘...’ before ‘result’ llseek.c:36: error: expected declaration specifiers or ‘...’ before ‘origin’ llseek.c:50: warning: return type defaults to ‘int’ llseek.c: In function ‘_syscall5’: llseek.c:52: error: expected ‘=’, ‘,’, ‘;’, ‘asm’ or ‘__attribute__’ before ‘{’ token llseek.c:68: error: expected ‘=’, ‘,’, ‘;’, ‘asm’ or ‘__attribute__’ before ‘{’ token llseek.c:34: error: parameter name omitted llseek.c:34: error: parameter name omitted llseek.c:34: error: parameter name omitted llseek.c:35: error: parameter name omitted llseek.c:35: error: parameter name omitted llseek.c:36: error: parameter name omitted llseek.c:93: error: expected ‘{’ at end of input make[1]: *** [llseek.o] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/ssanyal/workspace/build-host/util-linux-2.12j/fdisk' make: *** [/home/ssanyal/workspace/state/host-util-linux.compile] Error 2 error: a command in the pipe returned 2, bailing out ** As lisa suggested, disabling host-util-linux and module-init-tools is not working either. I am using gcc-4.1.2 in ubuntu. Cross compiler is built for gcc-3.4.3-glibc-2.3.5. Any help will be highly appreciated. -Regards, Sanyal --- Ali Saidi <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hi Sanyal, > > It appears as though you're compiling an x86 version > of the kernel > instead of an Alpha one. > > Take a look at: > http://www.m5sim.org/wiki/index.php/Using_linux- > dist_to_Create_Disk_Images_and_Kernels_for_M5 > > Ali > > On Sep 5, 2007, at 11:20 AM, sutirtha sanyal wrote: > > > Hi All, > > > > I am using M5 2.0b2.
