Victor: If you have these settings set correctly. then I don't know what could be wrong. Though, I am aware that many users on this list had many problems with HTC phones. You might want to look into getting a different phone that's not an HTC brand. It's too bad that you are having so many problems with your first android phone. I can see why you would be discouraged to continue in using an android phone. Sorry, I couldn't be much help. -----Original Message----- From: Victor Bishara Sent: Saturday, November 05, 2011 11:48 PM To: 'Mobile Accessibility Android Users List' Subject: RE: [MA] boost phone arives tomorrow! Pedro: I do have these settings correcctly thanks to this group. I still can't get K 9 to speak, and caller id does not work either. Even worse, when arrowing down, sometimes the phone stops talking all together. ATT tell me that the phone' memory is small (512MB). That is all the system memory has. It also comes with facebook loaded. My phone is HTC Status with google version 2.3. What other choices you think I have? Victor, please explain what kind of problems are you having with your phone's email settings. If it's the voice, with m.a. not reading anything out, there might be a setting that's off somewhere. Check the phone settings, under accessibility, to see if both accessibility and mobile accessibility is checked. Also see in the sound setting check to see, if silent mode, is unchecked. Under the m.a. settings, go to advance and see if use system call screens, is checked if so uncheck it. lastly check under screen reader, and see if notification is checked. If it's not place a check on it. I hope you find that helpful. Good luck. -----Original Message----- From: Victor Bishara Sent: Saturday, November 05, 2011 3:23 PM To: 'Mobile Accessibility Android Users List' Subject: RE: [MA] boost phone arives tomorrow! I will consider the I phone because of the SIRI which may do many functions with the voice recognition. I am not sure if I want to go that route. I'll first try to be able to access emails on the HTC. However, so far I am not able to get that function to work for me. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Saqib Hussain Sent: Saturday, November 05, 2011 3:59 AM To: Mobile Accessibility Android Users List Subject: Re: [MA] boost phone arives tomorrow!
