Not sure what's going on with issue number 3, but I can tell you a bit
about the first 2 issues. With android being open source, manufacturers
are free to modify it as they wish, HTC for what reason I have no idea
has changed some things on their phones that cause problems with mobile
accessibility. The way I get around this on the desire z is, use the
system call screens, then swipe down to answer the call.
Original message:
Morning all,
My wife recently got a My Touch 4G Slide Android phone.
Noticed the following issues, and wondered if anyone else here has
encountered them, or knows if fixes/workarounds are possible.
1. If the phone is awake when a call comes in (you are looking at
contacts for example), the swipe up gesture for answering the phone
does not work.
All it does is to increase the phone ringer volume.
Double-tapping, and then swiping up also has no effect.
The swipe down gesture does work just fine.
If the phone is asleep prior to a call coming in, both swipes work as usual.
Turning on "use system call screens" makes answering the phone more
problematic, and defeats the whole purpose of having an accessible solution.
2. Turning on "use volume buttons to answer/disconnect calls" also
does not fully work. The up volume does not answer the call, although
the down volume button does indeed disconnect it.
3. Finally, adding contacts using the CF contacts APP seems to be a hit
or miss proposition.
The new contact does not immediately appear in the CF contact list, but
it is there in the phone's native contact app.
As close as I can tell, the contact appears after you shut the phone
down, and reboot--a bit annoying.
And, when it finally does appear in the CF contact list, it is without
fail, out of order in the alphabetic list.
Again, in the native contact app, the contact is in the proper position.
Any thoughts would be welcome.
Cheers
Dan G
