Hi Dan, I have learned to use my touch 4g slide by some trial an error as well as some calls to HTC corperate . First in my experiences with this device in MA settings then advanced make sure first option is unchecked and second is checked with this done answering calls while the screen is on is simply touching lower lefthand corner right above the home hard button and rejecting calls is the lower righthand corner above search button. Answering calls while screen is locked is a simple swipe up gesture from the bottom of screen in the center to middle and rejecting a call is a similar gesture with the same starting point bottom center swipe up and to the right on this phone. HTC sense has broken accessibility with MA so these are the best way to answer calls with the mytouch 4g slide. Now I have stopped using the stock apps for contacts and dialer because HTC has ruined these as welll, I recommend DW contacts and phone dialer by DWP and the stock text messaing app should be changed unless the one provided in Mobile Accessibility is acceptable. Hope this helps you and your wife
