Okay, go to settings and activate swipe to answer under the call menu. Now, when your screen is locked, you'll be able to swipe down to answer calls. When it is unlocked, you'll need to hit the answer button slightly above the home key length wise on your phone. It's best to have someone show you this. You can answer an incoming call while on the line by sliding open the keyboard and arrowing to either answer or decline. This is also how you dial while on the phone using the number row. Also, when you hit the menu key at the phone screen, you will find with the arrows the options for mute, speaker, flash, and a couple more. HTH
