Think of Edge as 2G, much slower but for many applications you will use
data for, you wouldn't notice much difference but it depends on what you
wish to do.

Works really really well. You add people to a contact list. Everyone has to
have their own user ID.
You can even setup channels so you can broadcast to multiple people.
