Hi Mike

Thank you for all that information. I have installed the mini pro companion
software on my computer. The phone is charging at the moment. Luckily I
have a sighted husband so he put the sim card into the phone for me.
Does MA work well on this phone? How do you answer and end a call?
Sorry for all these questions but the guy who normally helps me with my
phone isn't coming to stay until Friday 3 Feb so I will have to get hubby to
help and as he's not all that tetchy minded it might be a bit difficult
until I have MA installed.

Debbie

This is a nice phone, a couple things I would mention. First, sometimes it
can be hard to tell the difference between the sim slot and the micro sd
slot, so I always start with the sim. I have accidentally put the memory
card in the sim slot before and had to use a paper clip to remove it, there
is no way a sim card will fit in the micro sd slot, so no damage done if you
choose the wrong slot for that. The battery cover can be a bit difficult to
remove the first time, there is a small groove on the left side, you can
find it with a finger nail, pressing on that should allow you to remove the
cover. The sim slot is in the same compartment where the battery goes, and
the memory card goes in to a small slot next to the battery compartment. You
may want to go ahead and install the xperia companion software on your
computer now, you can use that to install the newest software, there was an
update for mine, so yours will probably have one as well. There is no screen
reader or tts engine included on the phone, so you will need sighted help to
get speech going. You can sign in to your google account, then just access
your purchased apps from the market to install mobile accessibility. It will
then need to be enabled as a screen reader in the usual way. After
installing the newest phone software, go through the apps on the phone and
uninstall the ones you will not use, many of them can be removed, I freed up
about 50 MB of memory on mine by doing that. For the most part, the stock
apps work fine, they don't have many modifications, but I discovered one
thing tonight, when you make a phone call, the buttons in the call screen
such as for speaker phone are not labeled but once you know where they are,
it's useable. Over all this is a great phone, I really like it, and hope you
will too.
