Hello Nikos.
I'm not sure why you are not able to use mp3's for ringtones. I have used
them ever since I purchased my Android phone over 2 years ago. You can
create folders on your SD card called ringtones, alarms, and notifications,
and use files of your own choosing.

Hi all.
My name is Nikos and i am from Cyprus.
I started using mobile accessibility since Christmas.
At the moment i am not using mobile accessibility as a screen reader
but only as a launcher and i am using talkback as a screen reader
outsite mobile accessibility.
I have got the sony erixon xperia pro running ice cream sandwich 4.04
with explore by touch disabled since this phone has got a very nice
keyboard.
First of all i had difficulties subscribing to the list.
I tried several times subscribing from
http://www.codefactory.es/en/list.asp?id=88 without success.
After entering my info i get a message saying that i will get
confermation but i never got one.
Fortunately today i found the correct address for the list
http://list.codefactory.cat/mailman/listinfo/codefactory.cat.ma_mailing
because somebody forwarded a message to the eyes-free list so finally
i could subscribe with no problems.
With in the mobile accessibility suit the apps i use the most are
phone, contacts and sms.
I feel as these 3 apps are very well produce, easy to use and they do
everything that somebody would need from such apps.
The other apps i feel as they have a lot of missing features and they
are not productive.
For example in the calendar app i can add events but i cannot set
reminders. I don't think that a calendar app is compleeted without
reminders.
Also i don't like the fact that we can only use factory ringtones for
the phone and alarms and not mp3s.
The explorer app needs some improoving. For example it would be nice
if we had the ability to copy or move files around and also i don't
know how possible this would be but it would be nice if we press menu
on an mp3 and we had the option to set it as ringtone.
The web browser speaks things twice.
With a screen reader and also as a self voicing app.
It is even more anoying if we choose the vocalizer voice and we hear
two voices talking at the same time.
Finally sometimes when using the phone application and having the
phone to my ear the phone keeps going in and out from the loud
speaker. I feel as the screen doesn't lock sometimes when close to my
face and it thinks that i double tab the screen instead.
Also i have got some comments about the screen reader part.
When going to the notifications mobile accessibility screen reader
reads everything at once and the arrow keys don't stop the speetch.
Only the proximity sensor works.
The same happens in dialogues. For example the dialogue asking if we
want to uninstall an app.
Mobile accessibility would read everything and the arrow keys don't
interapt the speetch and speak the focused item.
This is the reason that i use talkback.
These are my comments so far.
I think mobile accessibility is a very good product but it still needs
some improoving.
Thanks for reading
Nikos
