Ok, my English is not very good but I think I understand what you want.
Here's how you do it in Llama:
First create two profiles in Llama, one with the ringtone and notification
volume as you want it to be without an earphone, and another with the
volumes as you wish them with the earphone plugged in. You can also use two
of the existing profiles for this, for example the "normal" and "quiet"
profiles, and adjust them as you wish.
Now go to the "events" tab and create a new event. First you have to enter a
name for the event. Then, tab the button that says "add condition". This
brings up a list of conditions to choose from, and one of them is something
like "headset plugged or unplugged". Set it to "plugged in". Then tab "add
action". One of the actions is "change profile". Choose the profile you wish
when you use an earphone.
Remember that events always come in pairs, so you will also have to create
an event to set the profile back to normal when the earphone is unplugged.

ok this is what I want to do. when a headset is plugged in ring tone volume
is at one level and same for notification volume they get quieter I don't
want my poor ear blasted out smile. When the headset is removed it gets
louder. Now for the problem/error problem I'm not sure how to customize it.
error if ring tone is say 50 percent notifications is 30 percent it says
that's an error in ICS and above you cant do that yet others have said it
still works so don't understand the error. Any and all help is appreciated.

There is an app called Llama that lets you do this. It can have your
phone perform certain actions based on certain conditions. One of the
conditions is plugging or unplugging an earphone, and one of the actions
is to switch the sound profile. It can do much more, like having your
phone become silent when at a certain location, e.g. a concert hall, or
changing the profile and settings based on the time or on certain days of
the week.
This is really a useful app, and it's entirely accessible. The developers
recently labelled all the buttons after I asked them for this.
